Too often the food allergy sufferer has a diet which is repetitive, limited in variety, nutritionally incomplete and socially restrictive. While health care professionals may consider nutrient content, the other issues are not always addressed in consultations. Additionally, detailed advice regarding a ‘healthy’ diet is often not considered relevant during a food allergy consultation.
